Hey, friends! Today was a GREAT day for Dan! He had his 3rd day of rehabilitation. He worked on walking and he played (and won!) Bingo. When I spoke to Kathy on the telephone, I could hear Dan asking her clear questions that were completely in context. I almost cried! He had just received his dinner from the nurses and was asking Kathy where her dinner was and wanted her to get something to eat with him. He's still taking care of his baby. :)
Dan looked in the mirror for the first time today, and he was very upset with what he saw! He told Kathy that someone had given him a very bad haircut! All day he has been asking when he can get his hair fixed. This might seem like a little thing, but it so much like the Dan that he was before the accident that it is very encouraging to us. Today I realized that Dan is coming back to us and he's coming back soon. I know that we have a long road ahead, but we will reach the end. It's very comforting.
Thank you for all of your extra prayers for Kathy last night, please continue to remember her daily. She is doing a phenomenal job of taking care of Dan, but we don't want her to forget to take care of herself.

Tippy has been keeping me posted on Danny's progress. I have tried several times to leave a comment but it just would not let me. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am sooooo glad to hear of Danny's wonderful progress today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great news!! Please know that the lack of our physical presence is not an indicator of a prayerful or spiritual one. I have been trying to give time and space as I struggle to hear updates. Last night I couldn't get Dan and Kathy off my mind and found myself up from 12 till 1:30 praying. As always, if there is ANYTHING I can do, please let me know. What a great healer Our God is!!! Kathy, you rock!!

Great news!! I find it very hard to sit and wait for each and every update. What wonderful news. Kathy, you rock!! Dan, don't worry you are still young enough for the hair to grow back! Anythng I can do, just let me know.
